Dance Brigade is pleased to announce its latest evening-length dance work, Butterfly Effect, which takes on the climate crisis. Created and directed by Krissy Keefer, the title is a nod to the idea that small actions can have far-reaching consequences. Featuring a live musical score by Bruce Ghent, Butterfly Effect pays tribute to the devastatingly large number of activists that have been silenced, often brutally, because they have spoken truth to power.
With eight dancers and six drummers, this large scale project will wind through the studios inside Dance Mission Theater, the audience be immersed in three distinct worlds, and met with dance, percussion, light, video, poetry, and social commentary. (Please note that there is no late seating, please arrive 10 minutes early.)
