The 2025 Napa Climate Summit and Job Fair on March 12 at Napa Valley College was a rousing success!

Despite the deluge that day, over 100 people attended, 50 of whom were students from seven local high schools and Napa Valley College.

Tyla Brown, MCE’s Senior Partnership Development Manager, gave a keynote speech that was the perfect antidote for the chaos happening at the federal level. It served as inspiration to keep working on climate actions with hope for the future (because we are planting seeds!) and generated excitement for the Job Fair.

Napa Schools for Climate Action leaders Sophie Wassef and Liliana Karesh did a great job introducing the keynote speaker and moderating the panel discussion. Their own work on climate action was yet another example of forward motion on the climate front.

Our panelists were State Senator Christopher Cabaldon, Napa County Supervisor Joelle Gallagher, City of Napa Climate Analyst Deborah Elliot, and Napa Valley Unified School District Director of College and Career Readiness Mario Landeros. Each shared their pathway to working on climate issues and spoke about the opportunities for and importance of young people working in climate related fields.

The Job Fair featured over a dozen exhibitors with paid internships, summer jobs, training programs, and educational opportunities for students. It was packed and noisy! Students left lugging materials from the Job Fair and shouting thanks!

We are so grateful to MCE for sponsoring this event and for being such a force for good in our community.

With deep gratitude,
