DESCRIPTION:To support of the Global Climate Strike week (Sept 20-27) and to raise awareness and action on the climate crisis\, eight riders from Napa Climate Now! are bicycling 100 miles in Marin and Sonoma on September 28 and 29 in the Green Fondo with Climate Ride\, a national non-profit dedicated to raising funds for climate and environmental causes through bicycling and hiking events.\nA portion of the funds we raise this year will go to the grassroots non-profit organizations like Napa Climate NOW!\nPlease consider helping to sponsor this ride. DESCRIPTION:The Climate Emergency Mobilization (CEM) Task Force launched in February 2019 as a Bay Area regional partnership of municipalities\, elected officials\, front-line communities\, nonprofits\, environmental justice (EJ) and social justice (SJ) organizations\, and climate activists to face the climate crisis imperatives\, and to move beyond these limitations. Our purpose is to mobilize the region and beyond to confront the climate crisis\, enacting a just transition to a regenerative economy\, ensuring survival\, equity\, and true sustainability.

SUMMARY:Hope and Urgency: An Art Show for Climate Action
DESCRIPTION:SUBMISSIONS OPEN UNTIL SATURDAY\, AUGUST 31 AT 8PM. The climate crisis affects us all\, but traditional avenues for advocacy are not always inclusive of those who better advocate for their cause visually. There are so many ways to feel connected to the mobilization for climate action\, and we want to create a space to visualize that engagement. Our hope is hold a space full of art related to climate; where we can commiserate\, reminisce\, hope\, fear\, imagine\, and envision a better world together. \nThis show holds a lot of opportunities: a space to reflect on the current climate crisis\, to inspire others to act\, to showcase creative release; to bring our environmental\, social justice\, and artistic communities together; to support local artists and climate activists; and to fundraise both for an SF gallery and our movement for climate justice. \nOpening Reception Friday\, September 6\, 5pm-10pm \nTo submit\, share your piece and your story here.  \n  \n
