DESCRIPTION:Napa Youth Stewardship Council invites you to plant native milkweed and pollinator friendly plants at the RCD Huichica Creek Sustainable Demonstration Vineyard in Carneros. Monarch butterfly populations have been declining\, and in response\, we will be planting over 1\,000 native host plants for butterflies and caterpillars to support their survival. RSVP is required\, space is limited. Dress warmly\, and in old clothes that can get dirty. Must wear old shoes or boots. All tools and gloves provided. SUMMARY:Bike Trail Clean-up hosted by 2019 Climate Champ Napa County Bicycle Coalition
DESCRIPTION:Join us for MLK Day of Service on Monday\, January 20th\, as we clean up trash and debris along the Napa Vine Trail through central Napa\, in partnership with the Rotary Club of North Napa. Meet @ 9am (coffee and donuts will be provided!) at The Hub Bicycles (2500 Jefferson St\, Napa). We will walk together to the Main St./Central Ave. entrance to the Vine Trail and split up into two groups – one heading south to Soscol and one heading north to California. We will be cleaning both the trail\, and the railroad right-of-way. A representative from the Wine Train will be on-site and provide a safety review for working along an active railroad. What to Bring? Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes\, weather-appropriate clothing\, work gloves\, and bring a reuseable water bottle. DESCRIPTION:Join Napa Valley Insight Meditation\, Napa Climate NOW! member Lori Stelling\, and Kim Hester Williams (co-editor of Racial Ecologies\, 2018) as we gather to celebrate beloved community with reflections on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and 30-minutes of gently guided mindfulness meditation\, honoring our individual and collective capacity to practice and grow compassion and peace within ourselves and to express these qualities through the actions we take to care for our world. Children ages 10 and older who would enjoy this activity are welcome to attend with a parent/guardian. No prior meditation experience is necessary; all are welcome.
